Celebrities You Thought Are Long Gone But They Are Not Planning Their Retirement Just Yet

Celebrities come and go over the years, and we often forget about stars we used to love and idolize at one time during our lives. Sometimes, we even regard them as ‘dead’ if we haven’t heard about them in a while! However, you may be surprised to hear that some of the greatest actors, singers and other well-known public personalities are still very much alive and kicking! That’s why we’ve come up with this list to figure out who is still working or enjoying life in the next chapter of their lives – in retirement.

Betty White – 98

Betty White boasts of a seven-decade-long acting career, and she’s regarded as a TV pioneer. She became amongst the first women who commanded attention in front of the camera as well as behind the scenes. Her contribution as an actress, producer, and writer has helped her amass an impress a $45-million fortune. White is now 98 years old and she still graces our screens. Most recently, she appeared in the TV film If You’re Not in the Obit, Eat Breakfast in 2017, and in 2018, she appeared in the documentary about her life Betty White: First Lady of Television.

Susan Dey – 68

This doe-eyed actress was definitely on everyone’s list of faves back in the 80s! Susan Dey was known mostly for her role as Laurie Patridge in the American TV show The Patridge Family. She got the role when she was just 17, with no previous acting experience whatsoever. Her innocent looks and fresh talent also got her a number of Golden Globe nominations. For a brief period of time, Susan was rumoured to have a major crush on her on-screen brother played by David Cassidy. The couple dated for a bit until they broke things off and Susan married her agent. Susan still remains flawless for her age though!

Alan Alda – 84

Alan Alda is yet another actor we’ve discussed who appeared in the series M*A*S*H. He is known for playing the character Captain Hawkeye Pierce. His popularity rose again when he landed a role in The West Wing. His good looks didn’t go a miss either. He then went on to host the TV show Scientific American Frontiers, which he did for an incredible 15 years. Over his career he won 7 Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe, among others. His work on television, as well as his work as a director and a writer, helped him to earn a wealth of $40 million over the years. Now at age 84, he enjoys charity work and appears on screens every now and again.
