Anne Aly is the first female federal parliamentarian of Islamic faith. She is currently the Minister for both Early Childhood Education and Youth. Holder of a Bachelor of Arts, Aly got her degree from the American University in Cairo in 1990.
Moreover, the politician has been married three times. Currently, she is married to the former police officer and Canadian ice hockey player, David Allen. They both reside in Sydney, along with Aly’s two sons. She has always been open about her struggle with her former husband and how tough it was for her to be a single mother.
