Nicole DeHuff fue primero conocida por los espectadores cuando consiguió un papel en la exitosa película comedia, Meet the Parents, aunque también apareció en CSI: Miami y Monk. Antes de fallecer, le diagnosticaron de manera errónea una bronquitis y le prescribieron Tylenol y antibióticos, la cual cosa empeoró su estado de salud. El 16 de febrero de 2005 tuvo un colapso y para cuando descubrieron que tenía una pulmonía y no bronquitis, resultó ser demasiado tarde. No sabemos si su familia emprendió una acción legal contra los médicos y su mal diagnóstico.
