The “Downton Abbey” Castle – $400 Million

The location where the historical TV series Downton Abbey, created by Julian Fellowes, was filmed was the Highclere Castle in the region of New Hampshire. This many-centuries-old estate has probably seen some restorations over the centuries to preserve its history but it still one of the most beautiful castles in England. It has a Jacobethan style and was built by the architect Charles Barry. During summers, its doors are opened to visitors who can get a chance to see where their favorite series was filmed. The current owner of Highclere Castle is the Carnarvon family.

It wasn’t the initial location planned but it turned out to be one of the smartest decisions as this house entered Hollywood history, thanks to this movie. Click NEXT!
