Das Mädchen – Ein Nervenbündel
Olive war an diesem Morgen stiller als sonst. Schweigend richtete sie sich, um an diesem Tag mit ihren Pflegeeltern zu ihrem eigenen Adoptionsprozess zu gehen. Im Auto schwieg sie, während die Familie zum imposanten Gerichtsgebäude in der Innenstadt fuhr.
Während ihre Pflegeeltern die Fragen der Richterin beantworteten und versuchten, ihre Eignung als Eltern unter Beweis zu stellen, schwieg Olive weiterhin. Die Nervosität nagte an ihr. Sie hatte nie erwartet, dass die Richterin sie direkt ansprechen und nach ihrer Meinung fragen würde. In diesem Moment sehnte sie sich danach, im Boden zu verschwinden, doch die Richterin bestand auf eine Antwort.
