The list of celebrities with careers stretched over several decades is very shortlisted. However, Penelope Keith is among that brief file of screen legends. Born and raised on English soil, the British entertainer became an overnight sensation starring as Margo Leadbetter in the acclaimed 70s’ program, “The Good Life,” bagging BAFTA’s TV Award for Best Light Entertainment Performance.
Summing up Penelope’s success in one hit show is underplaying her abundant acting resume, which dates back to her first TV appearance in the 1957 “The Army Program” to iconic stage plays in “Noel Cowards.” Of course, that wasn’t all it; she later became the “High Sheriff of Surrey” in 2002, a position that represents the sovereign of England.
