When we look at Jake Gyllenhaal’s face, it is hard to believe that the actor played tough boxer Billy Hope in Southpaw. Weight gain and muscle gain training became the everyday activity for the actor, who exercised six hours per day for six months to get into character. Weightlifting, 2000 sit-ups each day, boxing, running eight miles, and tossing a 350-pound tire was part of the daily agenda. It worked. In just about six months, Gyllenhaal went from 147 lbs to buff 175 lbs with the help of trainer Terry Claybon.
