Dennis watched as car after car zoomed past, ignoring the girl. Normally, he would do the same, but something felt wrong about leaving her stranded. He signaled and pulled over, offering her a ride. She approached warily, glancing at the backseat before stepping closer. Clever girl, he thought.
She said she needed a ride home. Relief washed over her face when Dennis mentioned he lived in the same city. Offering her a ride seemed like the right thing to do, so that’s exactly what he did. He felt good about this decision.
