The Forgotten Phone
Dennis started the engine, reminiscing on his odd ride. He was happy that he could help her, but he felt unease from her peculiar behavior. Something about the encounter gnawed at him, though he couldn’t quite identify what it was. As he pondered, a sudden glint caught his eye.
He glanced at the passenger side and saw Harper’s phone lying on the floor. Considering how attached she had been to it, this was especially strange. Without hesitation, Dennis turned the car around and headed back to the station, hoping she hadn’t already left without her phone.
The Search at the Station
Dennis quickly parked and sprinted into the train station. It was the city’s central hub, vast and crowded with people. He muttered to himself, knowing this would be challenging, and picked up his pace. He searched every platform and shop, but Harper was nowhere in sight.
Entering the main hall, he looked around, sighing in frustration. He wondered what to do next. Realizing he had exhausted all options, he decided to take the phone to the police station the next day. After a final glance around, Dennis headed back to his car.
