Dennis loosened his grip on Harper’s arm, not wanting to frighten her. He felt a pang of guilt and genuinely wanted to help, but he needed her to open up first. The message on her phone had him deeply concerned for her safety. He pleaded with her to explain. Harper glanced around nervously, still hesitant.
Finally, she looked Dennis straight in the eyes as if weighing her decision. She then gestured for him to follow. They moved to a secluded part of the platform, away from the crowds. Once there, she took a deep breath and began to speak.
