Prince Carl Philip of Sweden and Sofia Hellqvist – $7M
Prince Carl Philip, the Duke of Värmland, married Sofia Hellqvist, a Swedish commoner. She was given the title of Princess following her marriage, and the title was announced before the wedding. The ceremony was held at the Royal Chapel of Stockholm Palace. The guests that were invited included royal family members from several parts of the world, including the Crown Prince and Princess of Norway, the Queen of Norway, the Earl and Countess of Wessex from the UK, and the Princess Takamado of Japan. The wedding was extravagant and cost them $7 million to pull off.
