Famous People Who Died & You Had No Idea

184. Gene Wilder – ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory was his trademark role, but Gene did dozens of other things as well (like songwriting, producing, screenwriting, etc.). He first debuted on TV on the show The Play of the Week. He received an Academy Award for his performance in the film The Producers. He was also nominated alongside Mel Brooks for writing the script for Young Frankenstein. Unfortunately, he suffered from Alzheimer’s in his later years, and we all know that it is a disease that cannot be cured permanently through medical treatment. The disease took his life when he was 83.
