Haley Joel Osment – Drug Addiction Ruined His Career

“I see dead people…” no, that is not a piece about schizophrenia or severe anxiety disorders. The child actor made his first appearance in the movie Forrest Gump! After his huge success along Tom Hanks he appeared throughout television and film for the next years. But it wasn’t until 1999 when Osment became really famous after starring next to Bruce Willis in the movie The Sixth Sense. Afterwards, he kept himself busy with leading roles in movies like Secondhand Lions, A.I. Artificial Intelligence and Pay It Forward. As he grew older the offers slowed down a bit.
Once he wasn’t the little adorable child star anymore and struggled finding acting job he focused on his personal interests and talents. He enrolled in at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and graduated in 2011. To finance his studies he worked as an actor and voice actor.

His success continued until 2006 when he got into a car accident. His blood alcohol level was very high and he was in the possession of weed. He attended mandatory Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and entered an alcohol-rehabilitation program. So far so good as the actor has enjoyed a steady career ever since.
