Sidney Poitier has been an important face in the business since he began acting in the late ’40s. However, his legend was permanently indented in history after he won the Academy Award and became the first African-American actor to be awarded the coveted prize. His home in Los Angeles is one of his most cherished places as the home décor was made by his wife. Sidney turned 92 years old in February 2019 and although he hasn’t been in public events as often, he is well-remembered and his Civil Rights initiatives have served as an example for many.
