Dwight F. Davis, Died at 66 – Price Unknown

Dwight F. Davis was an American politician and even more so, he was the legendary founder of the Davis Cup competition. Besides playing tennis and being the Governor-General of the Philippines, Davis served as the Assistant Secretary of War (1923–1925) and Secretary of War (1925–1929). Davis’ historical house in Missouri is currently owned by Russ John and Sharon Price John and has undergone a restoration process in the meantime. Davis built the house in 1911 and sold it in 1927 when he joined the Coolidge Administration. He succumbed to his six-month-long illness in November 1945, in Washington.
