Peter Mayhew – Discovered In A News Article
Star Wars fanatics sure know Peter Mayhew as the man who portrays Chewbacca. After a photo of him was seen in a news article about guys with big feet, he was cast as a minotaur in the 1977 movie Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger. Mayhew was making ends meet through his career as an orderly when George Lucas offered him the role of Chewbacca. Not that much on-screen credits are being added to his acting portfolio these days but he did serve as the ‘Chewbacca consultant’ for Solo: A Star Wars Story.
