In 2011, the Costume Institute Gala took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The event was a sign of appreciation to the late fashion designer Alexander McQueen, who had taken his own life just one year earlier. Just like many others, Daphne Guinness opted for an Alexander McQueen gown to honor the late artist. The gown was fully covered in feathers, looking posh and royal at the same time.
