In this snap, we can see a bunch of kids rushing to a large block of ice – the perfect thing for cooling off on a hot day and slaking their thirst! In the blazing heat of summers before air conditioning, this must have seemed like something of a miracle – how lucky we are today!
Spare a thought for the adults dressed in suits and hats in the background; they must have been absolutely sweltering in the heat, and no doubt were envious of the kids gathered around that huge block of ice!
