President Lyndon B Johnson was well known as both a lover of automobiles and a bit of a rascal, too. He was the proud owner of an amphibious car, and would apparently love scaring the pants off his unwitting passengers as he plowed it into rivers and lakes, laughing at their terror all along the way!
Apparently, he would drive up to a lake, and then scream that the brakes don’t work… and then drive the car straight into the water where – of course – it would be absolutely fine. What a card!
