204. Bernie Mac – SARCOIDOSIS
A solid stand-up comedian and actor, Bernie Mac was best known for The Bernie Mac Show, Guess Who, and Ocean’s Eleven. His eponymous show earned him multiple awards, including the Peabody Award and the Humanitas Prize. The latter one was awarded to the show for tackling issues related to the promotion of dignity. He had been suffering from inflammatory disease, called sarcoidosis before his death, and the disease had attacked his lungs, weakening him. In that state, he was easy prey for pneumonia. The treatment proved futile, and after one week in the hospital, he went into cardiac arrest and died.
