Hossein Khosrow Ali Vaziri AKA The Iron Sheik – 78
The 1983 world champion Hossein Khosrow Ali Vaziri, known as The Iron Sheik, is a retired professional wrestler of Iranian origin. Vaziri rose to prominence during the ’80s and later formed a tag team with Nikolai Volkoff dubbed “The Foreign Legion.” The Iron Sheik was also known for his vulgar language. After a drug-related incident (cocaine), Sheik was released from the WWE but returned in 1988. In 2014, a documentary was released about him titled The Sheik and part of the earnings from the film were intended for Sheik’s surgeries that he could not afford. Believe it or not, Sheik reached the age of 78 and has five grandchildren.
