217. Natalie Cole – CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE
Daughter of Nat King Cole and an R&B singer herself, Natalie Cole became very successful in the ’70s, scoring a number of hits. Some of her more iconic songs are Inseparable, Our Love, and her cover of Unforgettable…With Love. Severe drug addiction to heroin and crack cocaine nearly led her to ruin, with an arrest for possession. She almost lost her son while under the influence, and a near-fatal fire incident convinced her to go to rehab. On December 31, 2015, she died of congestive heart failure, partially caused by her past drug abuse.
