On-Screen Sanctuaries: Exploring the Most Memorable Houses in Cinema and Television

The Great Outdoors” House – Undisclosed

One of the best comedies ever made and a true Hollywood classic, The Great Outdoors, produced by John Hughes, needed a cabin big enough to fit two families so what they decided was to have it made on the Universal Studios backlot, in 1988. Later on, the cabin had to undergo restoration as it was used for several shows like the ABC’s TV series Coach, Shooter, and Desperate Housewives as well. Today, many tourists still have a chance to see the cabin on the backlot of Universal Studios in California.
