Liz Smith started her acting career pretty late because she was already in her 50s when she decided to pursue it. When she landed her breakthrough role in A Play For Today, she was already 49. Nonetheless, she was able to win everyone’s hearts after giving life to the role of Nana in The Royle Family. She also acted in the sitcom I Didn’t Know You Cared. She won the BAFTA award for her role in the film A Private Function. She passed away at the age of 95 years old due to natural causes.
