Kennedy was a charismatic actor, and he once won an Oscar for Best Supporting Role thanks to his astounding performance in Cool Hand Luke, where Paul Newman starred. He received a Golden Globe nomination for this role and another one for his outstanding performance as Joe Patroni in the film Airport. He struggled for a long time with a heart condition, but he bravely stood up to it for a long time and passed the age of 90. He died of natural causes, leaving a trust fund to his family.
